Course of the tour

Day 01 | Arrival to La Paz

Transfer from El Alto International airport, at 4,000m and 14 km from downtown, set in a valley at the foothills of the Andes Range.

Day 02 | Tiahuanaco ruins and city tour

Tiahuanaco is at 72 km – 1 ½ hours from La Paz. Is considered the cradle of the American man (1580 bC to 1150 aC) and one of the most developed of its time. Its main constructions were: temple of Kalasasaya and the Gate of the Sun, monoliths Ponce and Fraile; the pyramid of Akapana and the Semiunderground temple. In the afternoon a 4 hours city tour, visiting its street markets, colonial part with San Francisco church, Gold museum, Murillo square and Valley of the Moon and its great formations. (B)

Day 03 | La Paz - Lake Titicaca

Transportation from La Paz to Copacabana (3 hours), a town in the shores of Lake Titicaca, boat to the Island of the Sun (1 hour), in Pilkokaina ruins to have a typical aptapi. Then hike for one hour to ecolodge La Estancia (BLD)

Day 04 | Sun Island - Copacabana - La Paz

DON’T MISS AN EARLY SUNRISE! Boat north to visit the Chincana ruins and Sacred Rock (1 hour), then to Island of the Moon to visit the Iñak Uyu ruins (1 ½ hours), to finally reach Copacabana (1 ½ hours), visit the famous Dark Virgin and its church, lunch and a stroll of town. Transportation back to La Paz (3 hours). (BL)

Day 05 | La Paz - Sucre and city tour

Flight to Sucre with both transfers. In the afternoon city tour visiting the Casa de la Libertad; Bolivar Park with small replicas of the Eiffel Tower and the Arc of Triumph of Paris; the church and museum of La Recoleta, and the museum of Indian Textiles ASUR. (B)

Day 06 | To Potosi and city tour

Trip to Potosi, through different valleys until reaching the Pilcomayo River, then going up more then 1,500 m to the highlands and mining city of Potosi (170 km - 3 hours). In the afternoon you’ll visit of the Mint House, traditional colonial streets, the artisan market, the churches of San Francisco, Santa Teresa church and its museum. (B)

Day 07 | Mine - Potosi - Uyuni

The silver mine is in the famous Cerro Rico, once the richest of the world. The tour allows the visitors to see the living and working conditions of the Bolivian miners. In the afternoon trip passing through branches of the Andes range, with nice Indian villages, to end in Uyuni (6- 7 hours). (B)

Day 08 | Uyuni saltflats - Tahua

Trip to Colchani to see locals producing salt, enter the natural wonder of salt crossing to “Isla Incahuasi” (2 hours), a special habitat of volcanic rocks and giant cactus. Continue north to visit mommies of Coquesa in the foothills of the Tunupa volcano, finally west to Tahua (2 hours). Enjoy a great sunset, overnight in hotel. (BLD)

Day 09 | Tahua - Oruro - La Paz

Transportation bordering the Tunupa volcano and then north through the highlands, passing the crater of Tambo Tambillo, the villages of Quillacas, Challapampa to finally reach Oruro (6 hours) and bus to La Paz (3 hours). (BL)

Day 10 | Return flight

Transfer to the International airport El Alto, to take your flight. (B)
