Its south-east side was for many years covered by a glacier, which gave it its name (the “Snowed Range”). Just next to Malalcahuello town begins a long but pleasant ascent through beautiful araucarias forests up to a border of trees. The vegetation during the Spring – Summer season resembles a botanical garden and sometimes you can see small condors flying overhead. The last stretch demands some effort, but a little later we will be rewarded by a dizzying view of Conguillío National Park, as well as more volcanoes all around. After the descent we will follow the road towards Malalcahuello to some new thermal baths, where we will relax after our excursion.
