It is about a one-hour walk to the ridge, called "Paso Desolación" at 1100 m, between the majestic Osorno Volcano, 2652 m high to the right, and the rocky peak, Cerro La Picada, 1750 m, to the left. Just in front of you you will see the highest mountain of the area, Monte Tronador, 3491m high, on the Argentine border and a beautiful view over lake Todos los
Santos and part of the Vicente Perez Rosales National Park. You will follow the path walking down into the wide valley to the lake, constantly skirting the slopes of the Osorno Volcano, to enjoy the scenic views . It takes about 4-5 hours of walking time all together.
